A Schedule B Number is a 10-digit number for all domestic and foreign goods exported from the U.S. It’s based on the 4-6 digit headings and subheadings of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).
Schedule B numbers are used for several reasons, including:
Export compliance: Used by exporters to comply with export control regulations. Schedule B numbers are used to decide whether an export license is required.
Schedule B numbers are used to keep track of goods leaving the country. They are tracked through the U.S. Census Bureau.
If you’re exporting goods from the U.S., you must know their Schedule B number.
