What is Warehouse Entry?

Warehouse Entry is documentation that’s filed with customs to declare imported goods that will be placed in a bonded warehouse. A bonded warehouse is a secure facility where imported goods are stored without paying duties or taxes until they are withdrawn.

The Warehouse Entry must include:

  • Description of the goods
  • Quantity of the goods
  • Country of origin of the goods
  • Value of the goods
  • Name and address of the importer
  • Name and address of the bonded warehouse

When the warehouse entry is filed, the goods are placed in the bonded warehouse. The importer does not pay duties or taxes on the goods until they are withdrawn from the warehouse. However, storage costs and other fees are still going to apply.
